The Land Use Bylaw regulates uses, densities and the form of buildings and land in Pitt Meadows. The Land Use Bylaw, in its current form, was adopted in 1992, and most of the provisions within the bylaw are older still. Housing markets and homes have changed since then. To keep up with the times the City is proposing to update the bylaw and make it easier to use.

Specifically, the City of Pitt Meadows is interested in hearing your thoughts on:

Secondary Suites. A secondary suite is a part of a single-family home set aside as a separate living area with its own bathroom and kitchen. Do you feel secondary suites are an acceptable way of increasing housing affordability and providing an alternative housing type in Pitt Meadows?
Infill Housing. Infill housing refers to one or more additional housing units on a lot previously occupied or zoned for a single family dwelling. Would you support infill housing in your neighbourhood provided that the buildings are attractively designed and provided certain conditions are met (such as adequate yards and landscaping around the houses, parking spaces)?
