Chief Administrative Officer - Jake Rudolph

The City of Pitt Meadows is a thriving Metro Vancouver

community with a unique urban and rural land mix.

We strive to accomodate growth in a manner that

repects our agricultural land base and unique

"small town" attributes while at the same time

leverage the advantages presented by our location.

We are a relatively small community, yet we accomodate

regionally significant business development and transportation

infrastructure including an airport, and the pressures of

growth that are typically associated with much larger communities. Because of our past efforts, Pitt Meadows is well prepared to address the resulting pressures of growth in a number of ways.

Recent projects that I believe have positioned Pitt Meadows to effectively address the pressures of growth include:

The establishment of the Pitt Meadows Economic Development Corporation: This newly-formed organization allows the City to build a variety of relationships and be proactive in respect to retention, expansion and attraction initiatives.
The completion of transit corridors including the Pitt Meadows Bridge, Golden Ears Bridge and Airport Way, and the widening of the Lougheed Highway: these are key to attracting businesses and residents to our tranquil community.
The development of numerous community facilities including the South Bonson Community Centre, completion of the arena renovations, a new Youth Action Park: it's difficult to build a "sense of community" without places and spaces. This is where relationships are built and sense of community flourishes.
The enhancement of the City's organization capacity: the reality is that a well-trained, dedicated and empowering team of leaders is the foundation for any great city to run safely and smoothly.

We continue to focus on how we can advance our organization to provide even better service delivery to our residents. The City will soon experience the opening of a new library, development of the Golden Ears Business Centre, and other initiatives to achieve Council priorities and corporate objections to serve our community well into the future.

I take great pride in the dedication and commitment of the City staff to deliver the City's high quality programs and services. I would like to thank Council and the Corporate Leadership Team for their dedication and commitment to service excellence. Through strategic and innovative leadership, we have ensured that Pitt Meadows continues to provide the best programs and services for the best value to residents and businesses.

We recognize that there is always room for improvement and encourage input from our resident and corporate citizens. We look forward to hearing from you.
