Message from Mayor Don MacLean

On behalf of Pitt Meadows Council, I am proud to provide you with the 2008 Annual Report that highlights major accomplishments of the City of Pitt meadows over the past year.

We are proud of the relationships we have with our residents and businesses and that we have successfully managed to keep our budget balanced while continuously providing improved services to keep our community strong and vibrant.  We've been able to achieve this through careful planning and listening to our residents.

Our community offers an appealing mix of urban and rural lifestyles with great schools, businesses, public facilities, sought after green space, and a network of trails that allow residents and visitors to explore our extraordinary natural surroundings.  The City strongly supports the agricultural and tourism sectors and takes pride in the contributions of the commercial and industrial sectors and anticipates considerable growth in these areas for the years ahead.

I would like to recognize our staff and my fellow Council members who are committed to ensuring that services, policies and decisions continuously contribute to the sustainability of our community.  It would not be possible to have a city as remarkable as Pitt Meadows without their enthusiasm, contributions and their commitment to the mission and goals of the City. 

I would also like to extend thanks to all of our residents and volunteers who make Pitt Meadows such a welcoming and enjoyable place to live.  I trust we have an even brighter future ahead.  Let's continue working together.
