Parks and Recreation
Pitt Meadows Parks and Recreation offers a wide variety of social, cultural and recreational programming and opportunities to residents across the community. Facilities include the Recreation Centre, South Bonson Community Centre, Heritage Hall, Harris Road Outdoor Pool and Spray Park and Pitt Meadows Arena amoung others. The department has an internal facility bookings area that manages the rental of these facilities with usage ranging from small meetings to weddings.
There are 23 well-developed and well-used parks totalling over 145 acres. Connected greenways, trails, sport fields, playgrounds and community gardens contribute to the overall community liveability and natural feel of the City.
Community partnerships are important to the department. Groups such as Ridge Meadows Seniors Society, Pitt Meadows Museum, the Fraser Valley Regional Library and numerous sport organizations work with Parks and Recreation to create a network of services for the public to partake in.
Popular recreation based activities in the community include children’s day camps, youth drop-in nights and overall usage of the modern state-of-the art fitness centre at the Pitt Meadows Family Recreation Centre.
