Regular Council Meetings

City Council meets in this formal capacity on the first and third Tuesday of the month. Regular Council Meetings are broadcast here on our website and on Shaw TV (Cable Channel 4). Pitt Meadows council meetings will be broadcast as usual on the Saturday following council (9am) and rebroadcast the following Monday at 7pm.

Council in Committee (CIC) Meetings

Council meets in Committee on the second Tuesday of the month to consider issues that will be forwarded to the upcoming Regular Council meeting with a recommendation from the Committee on how to proceed with the issue. This allows Council greater opportunity to discuss the issues and to meet in a more informal manner than a Council Meeting.

Special Council Meetings

Council has reserved the 4th Tuesday of each month for a Special Council Meeting to consider, refer and/or make decisions on matters referred by the City's Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and/or Council.

Closed Meetings

Part of a council meeting may be closed to the public (in camera), but the subject matter that may be discussed in the absence of the public is limited by legislation (Section 90 of the Community Charter).

Special Pre-Closed Meetings

Special Pre-Closed Meetings are a very brief procedural meeting to record that Council is about to enter into a Closed (in camera/non-public) meeting.

Council Meeting Agendas

Agendas and attachments for the current Council meeting will be available the Friday afternoon preceding the meeting on the City website. Agenda packages will be retained online for the current year in their complete form:

Minutes

Only the resolutions (decisions) of City Council at a Regular or a Special Council Meeting are considered final, and even then, only after the minutes of the noted meeting have been adopted by Council (normally at the next Regular Council Meeting).

Council Minutes will be available on the City website, two weeks following the meeting, subject to adoption by City Council.
