Regular Council Meetings

City Council meets in this formal capacity on the first, second, third and fourth Tuesday of the month. Regular Council Meetings are broadcast here on our website and on Shaw TV (Cable Channel 4). According to Shaw "Pitt Meadows council meetings will be broadcast as usual on the Saturday following council at 9am, and rebroadcast the following Monday at 7pm."

Council in Committee (CIC) Meetings

Council meets in Committee on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 3:00 consider business that will be forwarded to the upcoming Regular Council meeting with a recommendation from the Committee on how to proceed with the business. This allows Council greater opportunity to discuss the business and to meet in a more informal manner than the formal Council Meeting format. Council in Committee Meetings are broadcast here on our website.

Closed Meetings

Part of a council meeting may be closed to the public, but the subject matter that may be discussed in the absence of the public is limited by legislation (Section 90 of the Community Charter).

Special Pre-Closed Meetings

Special Pre-Closed Meetings are a very brief procedural meeting providing public notification that Council is about to enter into a Closed meeting. And for what the purpose is under legislation.

Council Meeting Agendas

Agendas and attachments for the current Council meeting will be available after 4:00 p.m. the Friday afternoon preceding the meeting and it is posted on the City website. Agenda packages will be retained online in their complete form, identified by date and year:

For Example: 2016 Agendas and Minutes

Only the resolutions (decisions) of City Council at a Regular or a Special Council Meeting are considered final, and even then, only after the minutes of the noted meeting have been adopted by Council (normally at the next Regular Council Meeting).

Council Minutes will be available on the City website, two weeks following the meeting, subject to adoption by City Council.
