PITT MEADOWS AIRPORT PROJECT ANNOUNCEMENT

The City of Pitt Meadows is pleased to announce a $150,000 loan to the Pitt Meadows Regional Airport Society for the purpose of constructing a new airport access road.

The new airport access will replace the existing access west of Baynes Road and will align with the City's new airport connector road ( Airport Way) to be constructed this year. Airport Way will be a new road ultimately connecting with the Golden Ears Bridge (map attached).

Acting Mayor Doug Bing said, "The City of Pitt Meadows was approached by the Airport Society for loan and has stepped up as one of the members of the Society". He stated, "The airport is a significant economic engine for the region and the project will facilitate new business investment. The initiative is consistent with Council's goal to attract clean businesses into the community to provide local job opportunities and achieve a balanced tax base".
