PITT MEADOWS, BC - After a thorough recruitment process involving over 60 local, national and international candidates, Council unanimously approved the recommendation of the Council recruitment and selection committee to offer the position of Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to Pitt Meadows own Kim Grout. Ms. Grout had been in the acting position since last Ocotber when former CAO Jake Rudolph left for a Deputy CAO position in Abbotsford.

Ms. Grout started with the City in 2004 as the Director of Operations and Development Services, becoming Deputy CAO 7 years later. Mayor Walters said “Kim is a very talented and bright leader, committed to serving Council and this community. We wanted to go through a transparent process just to make sure that we got the best fit for the job. We now know that is the case.”

Council was impressed with the response to their in-house recruitment process and in the end choose the candidate who most personifies what Council was looking for to continue to lead the team of dedicated staff and who will work well with council to implement their vision. The City will now be undertaking a recruitment process to find a replacement for Grout on the Engineering and Development side.
