Fall Open Burning Season Delay
CITY OF PITT MEADOWS
NOTICE OF PITT MEADOWS FALL OPEN BURNING SEASON DELAY
Pitt Meadows, BC –The Pitt Meadows Fire & Rescue Service would like to advise all residents that, while the Fall Burning Season is normally scheduled to run from September 1 to November 30, inclusive, due to the current high fire danger rating and the BC Wildfire Service open burning ban currently in effect, no burn permits will be issued in Pitt Meadows for this Fall’s burning season. This restriction will remain in place until the open burning ban is lifted. Therefore, the Fall Burning Season will be delayed until further notice and no permits will be available for purchase.
Please also note that the burn season will not be extended to compensate for this delay. Once the BC Wildfire Service has lifted this ban, permits will once again be available and the Fire Rescue Service will update its website accordingly. Please visit their website at pittmeadowsfire.com to check for updates. You may also visit the BC Wildfire website directly at http://bcwildfire.ca/hprScripts/WildfireNews/Bans.asp. Copies of the City of Pitt Meadows Burning Regulation Bylaw #2688 are available on the City’s website and at the Fire Hall and City Hall.
