Pitt Meadows, BC - The City of Pitt Meadows is once again awarding residents, community
groups, school classrooms and businesses in Pitt Meadows for their efforts towards “Going
Green” in 2014. The “Going Green Awards” is presented to groups within Pitt Meadows that are
working towards sustainability and environmental responsibility in the community.

“Every year, I continue to be impressed by the commitment and creativity of the residents and
businesses who are working hard to green our community. Their projects prove that whether it's
an individual or group effort, all efforts can create real and lasting change for our environment,”
states Mayor Walters.

Awards categories are focused on innovation, integrated green solutions, or awareness and
advocacy. The business category is separated for businesses that have less than ten (10)
employees and those with more than ten (10) employees.

Winners of the “Going Green Awards” will receive a “Green Star” award, recognition in a press
release featuring how they achieved their Green Star Ranking, and publication on the City of Pitt
Meadows website. Participating classrooms will be recognized with a certificate, mention in a
