PITT MEADOWS, BC – 2014 Starts Now! The City of Pitt Meadows is ramping up for a year of celebratory events and projects in honour of their 100th year anniversary in 2014 and they have an exciting opportunity for one talented Pitt Meadows resident to have their artwork immortalized in the celebrations.

Centennial Coordinator, Erin Mark, announced the contest on Monday saying, “We know Pitt Meadows residents are a creative lot and we need a striking new logo to help us celebrate our Centennial. We are looking for something that honours our history, commemorates the Centennial and complements the existing City of Pitt Meadows logos. It is all about capturing that Pitt Meadows pride and strong sense of place.”

The winning logo will be showcased throughout the community publicizing the Centennial events and projects throughout 2013 and 2014. Logo contest applications will be accepted until May 14.

Even if you are not the creative type, you can still help determine the winning logo by voting on the City's Facebook page ( beginning May 21. Look for the Centennial Logo Photo Album, and “like” the logo that you want to see as the City's Centennial logo.

In addition to having their logo become the one to bring in the second century the winning contest entrant will win a $200 gift certificate to a Pitt Meadows business of their choice (subject to conditions). The official centennial logo unveiling will take place June 1 at this year's Pitt Meadows Day ceremonies.
