Old Pitt Meadows Library Offers Lease Space for Community Minded Business

PITT MEADOWS, BC: At the Tuesday, April 16 Regular Council meeting, Mayor & Council gave City staff the approval to begin marketing 1,115 square feet of space in the City's Annex building.

Since the Pitt Meadows Library located to its new home in 2012, the City of Pitt Meadows renovated a portion of the former library space (now referred to as the Annex) and has moved staff from its Human Resources/Communications and IT departments into the Annex. The Pitt Meadows Economic Development Corporation has also moved into the building. A remaining 1,115 square feet is available for lease.

The Annex is located in the heart of the community offering a spacious, bright and secure space just steps from City Hall, Spirit Square, Pitt Meadows Family Recreation Centre, Wesbrooke Seniors Centre and Solaris at Meadows Gate – an ideal location for an organization or company that relies on strong community networks.

The City is looking for submissions from businesses or organizations that service an underserved market in Pitt Meadows, possibly providing education or training, and are community-minded and forward-thinking with regional connections.

“We're open to ideas,” said Mayor Walters, “The proponent needs to be a good fit for both the City and the community and we look forward to understanding what kind of interest there is in the space.”

A copy of the RFEI is available for download from the City of Pitt Meadows website at pittmeadows.bc.ca.

Non-mandatory viewings of the space will take place on April 25 between 9am – 11am; April 30 between 1pm – 3pm; and May 2 between 9am – 11am.

The deadline to submit an Expression of Interest is May 15, 2013 at 4pm.
