Councillor Bruce Bell
Bruce Bell was first elected to Council in November of 2008. He was born in Vancouver and has been a resident of Pitt Meadows for the past 35 years. Bruce is proud to say that he has three generations of his family now living in Pitt Meadows.
"Councillor Bell," as he is known at work, is the Director of the BC Care Aide and Community Health Worker Registry, which registers Health Care Assistant (HCAs) in order to protect vulnerable patients, residents and clients from abuse, and oversees educational institutes in BC that train HCAs to ensure they meet provincial standards. The Registry is an initiative of the Ministry of Health and it is the first of its kind in Canada.
Bruce is an active member of the community. He served as a volunteer firefighter in the 1980s, was the chairperson of the Pitt Meadows Secondary School Dry Grad Committee, and has coached baseball, soccer and hockey for many years in Pitt Meadows. Bruce is a long time member of the Pitt Meadows Day Society and a past member of the Pitt Meadows Economic Development Advisory Committee. Bruce is also on the Board of Directors of the George Derby Care Society in Burnaby BC, which provides supportive, independent living, complex and dementia care for veterans and seniors.
As he begins his third term on Pitt Meadows Council, Bruce looks forward to continuing to serve the citizens of Pitt Meadows as an active member on Council.
