Councillor Tracy Miyashita

Tracy Miyashita was first elected to Council in November 2008. Originally from a small farming community in Manitoba, Tracy spent many years living in Northern BC before choosing to settle in Pitt Meadows. She has a Bachelor of General Studies from SFU and a Bachelor of

Leadership and Management from BCIT, and has been a

Red Cross First Aid Instructor for 24 years. Currently she works

as a Health Director for Katzie First Nation. Tracy balances her

work by doing martial arts with her son Simon, fishing with

family, and running or cycling around Pitt Meadows.

Having lived and worked in the community for the past 14 years, Tracy

has also been an active volunteer. She has volunteered for Emergency

Services and events such as Pitt Meadows Day and Canada Day, and has

worked with many volunteers, community groups, governments and First

Nations communities throughout her career.

Tracy appreciates the small town feel that Pitt Meadows has managed to maintain and loves its natural environment and sense of community. She feels quality of life is important, and she is committed to listening and working with residents to continue to make Pitt Meadows a great place to live for families.
