As one of the two new faces on Council, Tracy Miyashita was first elected in November 2008. Having lived and worked in the community for the past 11 years, Tracy is currently the Health Director for Katzie First Nation.   Additionally, she volunteers as the community's Deputy Emergency Services Director and operates her own First Aid business. Many people will recognize Tracy from her past involvement with Pitt Meadows Day, the annual Doggie Dash and the Canada Day celebrations and as the Active Living Coordinator for Parks and Leisure from 1997-2008.

Tracy has a Bachelor of General Studies from SFU and is currently completing a Bachelor of Technology in Management through BCIT. Tracy balances her work and studies by spending time with her family boating, fishing and being a "soccer mom".   Tracy has just finished her seventh marathon.

Tracy 's roots may be in Oakbank, Manitoba but her heart is here in Pitt Meadows.   She appreciates the small town feel that Pitt Meadows has managed to maintain and loves the natural environment and its sense of community. Tracy thinks all these things make Pitt Meadows an ideal place to raise a family.   Tracy looks forward to learning so much more about her community and helping to shape the future of the place she loves to live, work and play in.
