Councillor David Murray

David Murray is a newcomer to Council after being elected in November 2011. He and his wife Sharon have lived in Pitt Meadows since 1987 with their two children,

Ryan and Shannon-Lee. He currently works for the Parks

department at the City of Port Coquitlam, and is also the editor

of the online news website Pitt Meadows Today.

David serves as a volunteer in many capacities. He is the

Secretary-Treasurer of the Fraser Valley District Council (CUPE)

and the Fraser Valley Labour Council (CLC). He also sits on

the Board of Directors of the On-to-Ottawa Trek Historical Society.

Locally, he has served on the executive committees

of the Pitt Meadows Soccer Club and the Ridge Meadows

Minor Baseball Association, and has coached high school basketball for over 30 years.

One of David's goals is to promote sports and recreation by making solid

commitments to enhance and expand sports facilities and programs in the community.

He also plans to work on improving transit and promoting small business.
