Wear red or white and come celebrate Canada Day in Pitt Meadows at Spirit Square with non-stop activities from 8am-2pm.  Plan your day with the schedule below of live bands, feature activities, roving entertainment and fun zones for kids, families, adults, seniors and teens.

Pitt Meadows Dogs - Best in Show

8:00am – 10:15am

Bring your dogs and enter them to win one of the following awards:

  • Best Dressed for Canada Day;
  • Most Looks Like Owner;
  • Biggest;
  • Smallest;
  • Best Trick,
  • Judges’ Favourite and
  • People’s Choice! 

To register your dog to participate, email with your name, phone number, dog's name, and the categories you would like to enter your dog into.

Check-in at 8am on July 1 - the parade of dogs starts at 8:30am. Or come and watch the parade of dogs and vote for people’s choice while also enjoying the Lion’s Pancake Breakfast, live music and other activities!   

Main Stage Entertainment

8:00 am – 2:00pm

Enjoy a jam session-style start to the day with Fiddlin' Around, a group of 7-9 local musicians ranging in age from 20-80 with a variety of toe-tapping reels, jigs, waltzes and old favourites. After the Opening Ceremony, enjoy the sounds of PLAYLIST, a band playing current hits, 80s, 70s, disco, funk, country… they play it all! Murfitt & Main will be our closing act and our living flag finale music with a shift in sound to country, bluegrass, Americana and western swing. 


The Canada Day program begins at 10:30, including the first raising of the Katzie First Nation flag in Spirit Square along with a Katzie welcome and drumming, unveiling of the Canada 150 Mosaic Mural, singing of O Canada and Happy Birthday, and cake for all!

Lions' Pancake Breakfast

8:00am - 10:30am
Enjoy a pancake breakfast courtesy of the Pitt Meadows Lions, from 8am to 10am. $5/adult, $3/12&under

Seniors Bingo Numbers Prize Draw

8:00am - 10:15am
Seniors (60+) can enter to win from 8am-9am, and 9:15am-10:15am. Draws held at 9am and 10:15am. Grocery gift cards up for grabs - come early, only 75 numbers available for each draw!

Sports Diversity Participation

9:00am – 10:30am

Learn and play sports that are popular in other cultures! Watch for more details coming soon!

Complimentary Pony Rides

9:15am - 10:15am and 11:30am - 12:30pm

Leghorn Ranch will be bringing three ponies to Spirit Square for complimentary pony rides. Entertainment will be in the surrounding area to engage the kids while they wait for a ride.  

Yoga 150 Challenge - Help us get 150 people to participate - invite friends!

9:30 – 10:15am

Join Fitness Edge instructors any time during the class and try our free Canada Day yoga session for adults, kids and seniors. The yoga class will provide guided active stretching, balancing and sequences with a gentle flow all to the music of a live band. Kids will have fun expressing themselves through fun animal poses such as cat, cow and downward dog. Please bring a yoga mat or towel or you are welcome to just do the class on the grass (no experience necessary).

Taste of Pitt Meadows

10:00am - 2:00pm

Local food vendors will be featuring and selling their food Canada Day. Enjoy the tastes of Pitt Meadows with participants such as Artista Pizza, Stomping Grounds, Sweet Tooth Creamery, Foamers’ Folly and more! Watch for updates on other participating vendors!

Firefighters vs Community Water Fight

11:30am – 12:30pm

Arm yourself with water guns from home and take on our Pitt Meadows Firefighters in a huge water fight - community on one side and firefighters on the other - dodge ball style!  Come prepared!

Youth DJ Pizza Party and Basketball Tournament

11:30am – 1:30pm

Just for youth in the Recreation Centre Lounge: a DJ spinning tunes, pizza and a basketball tournament in the gym!  Sign up for the basketball tournament by calling the Pitt Meadows Family Rec Centre at 604.465.2452.

Watermelon Eating Contest

12:00pm – 1:00pm

Prizes for 3 age categories: kids, youth and adults.  Sign-up on Canada Day at the customer service tent anytime between 8am-12pm.  Limited numbers possible – so sign up early! 

Participate in Pitt Meadows' First Ever Living Flag

1:30pm – 2:00pm

Wear red or white and participate in creating the Canadian flag as the event finale.  50+ free red and white t-shirts will be given away throughout the day – check out the booths!  Let's show our community spirit and come together to create our flag to show the rest of Canada!  Aerial photos will be taken and posted – tag yourself and say you were a part of history!

Try out the props in front of a 1914 Pitt Meadows background and take fun, free photos with your friends and family
Bustling Kids Activity Zone
The kid’s zone will be active all day with a kids’ entertainment stage, Click & Clown, balloon animals, Canada Day tattoos, face painting, fun with bubbles, a bouncy castle, roving entertainment and so much more! Don't miss Mr. I and the Rainbow Singers perform on the kids stage from 12:30pm-1:30pm.
Interactive Arts, Crafts, Sports & Games
Local artists and community partners invite everyone to join in on creative art activities, ParticipACTION 150 activities, and playing games!
Outdoor Cafe 
Sit back and enjoy the music, food and surrounding activities from the comfort of an outdoor cafe area with patio tables, chairs and umbrellas!
Canada 150 Challenges & Prizes
Including a Yoga 150 Challenge, Volunteer 150 Challenge, Scavenger Hunt, and opportunities to participate and watch ParticipACTION 150 activities. More chances to win prizes the more you participate! Get information from the Customer Service tent onsite!

Are there fireworks in Pitt Meadows on Canada Day?

Since we enjoyed fireworks at Pitt Meadows Day just a few weeks prior, we encourage residents to enjoy fireworks at surrounding communities for Canada Day! 


Volunteers Needed for Canada Day!

Help us meet our 150 Volunteer Challenge by signing up to volunteer for a shift at Canada Day! Shifts are either 8am to 11am or 11am to 2pm or for set-up and take-down before and after. Sign up for one shift and enjoy the rest of the festival with your friends and family! We need you - contact for information on volunteer roles, benefits, and recommendation letters available to volunteers.
