Local Bus Services

Listed below are some of the local bus services available in Pitt Meadows:

Effective Monday, February 1 all remaining peak period trips will be re-routed to serve Bonson Road South, addressing the community's request for peak period transit service. Customers living in the neighbourhood are currently walking over one kilometer to access public transit during the peaks. Customers living in Bonson South will be able to conveniently connect with the West Coast Express. Customers who are "riding through" will have marginally longer travel times.Click here for schedule.
TransLink operates regular bus services throughout Pitt Meadows, and provides a transportation link to other Lower Mainland communities. Link is a community-oriented service. With a 24-passenger capacity the Link buses serve most of the local routes in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows.
HandyDart is available for commuters requiring additional support or wheelchair bus services. Equipped with two large and four small vans, HandyDart provides a door-to-door service for people who have difficulty using regular buses, particularly those with special needs. HandyDart now serves approximately 900 people.
Dial-a-Bus is a service providing flexible transit to rural areas, upon request.

West Coast Express Passenger Rail Service

Providing service to the communities of the Northeast sector, West Coast Express is Vancouver's efficient commuter rail service. They operate Monday to Friday during peak commuter periods.

Five trains depart every 20 to 25 minutes during peak traffic periods, running westbound from Mission in the morning and eastbound from downtown Vancouver in the afternoon.

There are 31 roomy rail cars, each designed to accommodate 148 seated and 155 standing riders, and a state-of-the-art locomotive. The cars are wheelchair accessible and are equipped with bicycle racks, computer plug-ins, cellular phones, work stations, and washrooms. The train also features tinted windows, air conditioning, and on-board cappuccino service.

The Express runs on existing Canadian Pacific Rail Systems' track, which has been upgraded to accommodate passenger rail traffic, and provides significant time savings over traveling by car (Pitt Meadows to Downtown Vancouver in about 45 minutes!).

Passengers can purchase tickets from automated vending machines. Tickets are fully integrated with Bus, SeaBus, and SkyTrain.
