Call for Participation: Be a part of Culture Days 2018!

Calling all painters, musicians, dancers, potters, performers, designers, curators, chefs, poets, artisans, photographers, writers, printmakers, quilters, singers and other creative people! Culture Days returns to Pitt Meadows for a fourth year this September. We would love for you to join this national celebration of arts and culture by presenting or supporting an event.

We're looking for artists and cultural organizations of all types and forms from amateur to professional to share their love of culture with the community. Whatever your passion or mission, Culture Days is a wonderful chance to cast a spotlight on your creative projects.

Call for Proposals – Free Venue Space on September 30th!

The City of Pitt Meadows is offering FREE venue space at the South Bonson Community Centre for creative people, groups or organizers to host free Culture Days activities. Do you have an activity that would work well in a small space? We are seeking expressions of interest to program spaces at the South Bonson Community Centre. Art installation? One-on-one activities? Tell us your idea for a dynamic and inviting activity! Spaces are available for free use in the Upper Ballroom, Activity Room 1, Activity Room 2, Upper Hall, Outdoor Patio and Outdoor Plaza. Weather permitting, Waterfront Commons Park is also available.

  • Involves audience participation or reveals a behind the scene aspect to give the public a better understanding of the inner workings of arts and culture

Send your activity idea, space requirements and preferred time and location within the Community Centre to the Culture Services department for consideration. Deadline for Submissions is Friday, September 7, 2018.

Not sure how you can play a role in Culture Days? Want to apply for free venue space? Anyone can host a Culture Days activity. Amateur or professional - you don’t need to be a non-profit organization to share what you love. About Culture Days

Culture Days is a national celebration of arts and culture aimed at increasing public participation in the arts, fostering appreciation and support of the arts and promotes interaction between artists and their community. This 3 day event features FREE hands-on and behind-the-scenes activities in communities across Canada! Artists, arts and cultural groups, organizations and institutions at any level from amateur to professional can participate. The fourth annual Culture Days will take place September 28, 29 & 30 and we want you to be involved!

The national 2018 programming theme is OnBeat! You are encouraged to create events that embrace rhythm as a universal cultural experience and drumming as an accessible art form. Participating in the theme is optional; activities outside the scope of the theme are always welcome.
