City Clothing Drop Off and Swap Meet

July 6, 2018

Textiles are one of the fastest growing waste streams due to rapidly changing fashion trend cycles and low prices, which have led to an increase in clothing consumption and disposal.  Metro Vancouver estimates that the region's municipal solid waste from textiles amounts to about 40,000 metric tonnes per year. Did you know that over 2600 litres of water is wasted for one cotton t-shirt?!

Let’s reduce this waste! The City of Pitt Meadows Green Leadership Team is collecting clean, dry, good quality clothing for a Clothing Swap at the end of August.

Drop Off
During July & August, drop off your clothing donations at City Hall during business hours (8:30am to 4:30pm) at 12007 Harris Road!

Drop in to the City swap event, where you can choose up to 10 items, free of charge! Remaining clothing items will be donated to a local charity.

Thursday, August 23
Spirit Square - 12007 Harris Road
