Council Receives Report on Communications Service Review
The City of Pitt Meadows has established a number of goals and objectives to promote improved communication and community engagement in the community. In the fall of 2016, the City hired Therese Mickelson of Mickelson Consulting to conduct a review of existing City communication practices, procedures and materials. This review has been completed and the findings, analysis and recommendations are included in the report below.
The communication review process included one-on-one interviews with Mayor and Council, senior managers and other staff involved in supporting communication. The review also included a workshop with staff involved in providing front-line services or other areas that relate to communication requirements. An audit of communication policies and existing communication materials and tactics was also part of the needs assessment and recommendations in this report. The next step will involve the development of a Communications Strategy, which will address a number of the recommendations, and is scheduled to be compete in February 2017.
