Fall Burning Season Delayed

September 1, 2017

Due to the Province’s current burning ban in effect for the BC Coastal Region, Pitt Meadows’ Fall 2017 Open Burning Season will be delayed until further notice.

Originally scheduled to commence on Friday, September 1st, the burning season will be postponed until the Coastal Fire Centre lifts the current ban. No permits will be sold and anyone found burning in violation of the ban will be fined as per the fine schedule detailed in the City of Pitt Meadows’ Burning Regulation Bylaw No. 2688.  This can result in fines of up to $10,000 per incident.  Please continue to check the Pitt Meadows Fire & Rescue website as notice will be posted as soon as the ban has been lifted.

Visit the Coastal Fire Centre’s website for further information on current fire bans and restrictions and on the status of current wildfires in the Province.

Please call Pitt Meadows Fire & Rescue at 604.465.2401 if you require further information or clarification.
