Join a Council Committee - Applications Accepted until March 31

March 8, 2017

Would you like to get involved in your community and have an impact on its future?

The City of Pitt Meadows is now accepting applications from individuals interested in serving on the following Council-appointed Committees:

Board of Variance
The Board of Variance meets to consider applications to vary conditions of the City’s Zoning Bylaw where compliance would cause a person hardship.

 Active Transportation Committee
The Active Transportation Advisory Committee advises Council and staff on strategic priorities and policies relating to active transportation in Pitt Meadows using the Pedestrian and Cycling Master Plan as a guide. The Committee is looking for members of the public who have an interest and experience in active transportation topics.

Agricultural Advisory Committee
The Agricultural Advisory Committee advises the municipality on agricultural issues within the community, including the review of applications initiated under the Agricultural Land Commission Act (ALCA); agricultural-related policies and plans; irrigation, drainage and other water management issues; and other matters as referred by Council. The Committee is looking for members of the public who have an interest and experience in agriculture topics.

While a professional background or work experience in a related field would be an asset, Council is interested in hearing from anyone who has a broad understanding of Pitt Meadows and its unique character.

For more information on these committee appointments, visit the committee pages. To apply, fill out and submit the online form. Submissions will be accepted until 4:30 pm, Friday March 31, 2016.
